Why Toto Is Still Relevant In 2024
TOTO Toilets Help Consumers Navigate the New Normal
The COVID-19 global pandemic has brought an entirely new routine to people’s daily lives. TOTO utilizes its technology to help users in navigating the New Normal.
Toto’s philosophy is based on the principle of Kaisen, or “perfection”. Their latest toilet, called the WELLNESSTOILET, uses cutting edge sensing technologies to support customer well-being.
Water Sense Technology
WaterSense-labeled fixtures for plumbing are EPA-approved and help conserve energy and water while delivering an efficient, safe performance. TOTO USA is proud to be one of the first companies to earn the WaterSense label for our EcoPower flush valves and commercial flushometer toilets.
Our Aquia IV dual-flush toilet is a great example of a bathroom fixture that is high-efficiency. It uses only 1.28 gallons per flush, which is lower than the 1.6 Gallons required to meet EPA standards for an elongated toilet. The Aquia IV also features TOTO TORNADO FLUSH technology, which reduces the frequency of cleaning bowls and the need for additional flushes, further reducing its environmental footprint.
Another method of reducing water usage is by installing a showerhead with a low flow, which reduces the amount of water needed while bathing or washing. Our high-efficiency Showerheads are WaterSense Rated and come with the latest technology to ensure superior performance.
In the world where water shortages can be common, To-Topia limiting water usage is vital. TOTO’s EcoPower technology, which is found in our Aquia IV toilet and our NEXUS one-piece toilet helps reduce the amount of water we use by requiring only 1.28 gallons of water per flush to eliminate waste.
TOTO’s elongated toilets are EPA approved for high efficiency. The elongated toilets have an elongated or round basin and an ADA-compliant 17-19″ height. We also offer an elongated toilet with a compact design that is perfect for tight spaces and uses just 0.9 Gallons per flush.
The TOTO bidet wands for toilets are the most popular in the market for office and home use. They’re not just a cheap alternative to toilet paper but they are also more effective as they offer a full body wash that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and confident. The NEXUS bidet is equipped with our EWATER+ technology, which is made by electrolyzing tap water to produce the solution of sodium chloride ions as well as hypochlorous acid. This results in a powerful disinfectant which eliminates viruses, bacteria and other pathogens, while leaving your skin, and the environment completely safe.
ADA Compliant
You may be able to find the terms “ADA compliant” and “universal height” However, not all toilets with universal height are ADA-compliant.
The ADA standards, set by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are designed to be inclusive of all abilities and ages. This includes those with mobility issues and lower body strength. By incorporating these standards into their products, Toto ensures that their customers can get the bathroom experience they want with the added benefit of convenience of use.
TOTO’s ADA-compliant toilets are one-piece construction that instantly beautifies any bathroom and provides a functional advantage in comparison to traditional two-piece designs. The one-piece designs of TOTO simplify cleaning by removing the gap between tank and bowl. TOTO’s Eco UltraMax toilets also have an efficient, water-saving flushing system. These toilets are water efficient and consume less than 1.28 Gallons of water per flush.
Two-Piece and One-Piece Designs
Many who have traveled to Japan mention the efficiency and comfort of the Toto toilets they used during their stay. Toto is a Japanese brand of toilets that has a one-piece design that incorporates the tank and bowl. These toilets are easily cleaned and fit in small spaces. They are also very durable and can last for many years.
Toto was formed in the early 70s by a group of musicians who had worked as session musicians for some of the most famous musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummers Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro, and bassist Joseph Williams all had been regular contributors to albums of Steely Dan,[73] Seals and Crofts,[74] Boz Scaggs,[75], and Sonny and Cher among others.
Several of the members have performed solo, as well. Vocalist Bobby Kimball released a album called From the Inside in 1978. guitarist Steve Lukather a second LP titled Luke, and keyboardists David Paich and Joe Porcaro recorded an album with jazz pianist Miles Davis.
Toto along with their music, has performed a lot of touring throughout the years. In February 2018, they released their 40 Trips Around The Sun anniversary album and then embarked on an international tour to promote it.
The core of TOTO’s Total Design principle is taking into consideration the needs of everyone of all ages and abilities. Universal Height toilets are available to those with limited mobility. They also have a line of WASHLET+ bidets which have transformed the toilet experience from washing to wiping with the flow of water. Many people are switching to this better option.
Noise Reduction
In the United States, bathrooms are often located near bedrooms, so toilets that keep the noise to a minimum are particularly well-liked. And TOTO has found a way to achieve that with its Washlet, an electronic bidet seat. Combining a rimless, rimless bowl that uses relatively only water with an impressive spray of warm air that cleanses and dries skin, TOTO’s toilets have been described as “magical.”
While Japan embraces its technological achievements however, it also has a deep respect for the humble toilet. Those qualities come together in Japan’s Toilet Museum which was inaugurated in 1999 and is designed to inspire people to think differently about their toilet habits. The museum employs the power of poop to show the fact that TOTO products are both efficient and eco friendly.
The museum also highlights the company’s history of technological innovation, from the very first flush to the aeration system which reduces waste by up to 90% and uses less water than a traditional toilet. There’s also an area that showcases the company’s Washlet that uses a stream of water to clean and dry the user. It also does this by concealing the sounds of a toilet with singing birds.
Before forming Toto the members of the group such as bassist David Hungate and drummer Jeff Porcaro, performed as session musicians on many albums for famous artists like Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, Boz Scaggs, and Sonny and Cher. Keyboardist David Paich was a regular on sessions with artists such as the Eagles, Larry Carlton, and Quincy Jones.
In the years following Toto’s debut album, the group struggled to find an appropriate sound and underwent numerous changes of members. Hungate ended up leaving the group to pursue an independent career as an artist in Nashville in 1980. The reason he left the band was due to a lack time for his family, and a growing addiction problem. The band’s success ultimately was dependent on the talent of Lukather and keyboardist Steve Porcaro.
Comfort
TOTO toilets are designed with convenience in mind. This means they come with a variety of features that make using the bathroom more enjoyable. They include heated seats, for example that keeps the user warm. To make it more convenient, they also have automatic lids that open and close. They also have self-cleaning technologies that keep the toilets tidy and fresh.
It is crucial to know what features to look for when shopping for a TOTO Toilet. There are a variety of models to choose from, therefore it is crucial to find one that offers all of the features you require. You will need the model number and SKU of the toilet to do this. This information is available on the packaging or in the online product description.
Before beginning to form Toto members of the group performed as session musicians for a variety musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, guitarist Steve Lukather and bassist David Hungate and drummer Jeff Porcaro were regular contributors to albums of Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, Boz Scaggs, and Sonny and Cher. In 1980, they teamed up with singer/songwriter Joseph Williams to form Toto.
The band began their extensive tour following the release of Toto IV. In 1985 the vocalist Fergie Frederiksen was dismissed because she was said to have a difficult time meshing with the rest of the band. The following year, Toto recorded Fahrenheit, which was released in 1986.
The album was an innovative musical venture for the group, incorporating elements of gospel and jazz. It wasn’t a commercial success in North America, but did well in Japan. In 1987, Toto played the Montreux Jazz Festival and continued to tour. During this time, bassist David Hungate left the band to focus on his recording and production career. Steve Lukather, a guitarist/vocalist was his replacement.
